What to grow in March.

It is a beautiful day on the edge of the famous Viking Way, here in Lincolnshire. I am just about to do a spot of strimming. My least favourite job. Just ahead of mowing! Things are really getting going now in gardens all over the UK. What can you grow? Here you go.

Broad beans, tomatoes, chives, kale, peas, potatoes, sweet peppers, beetroot, salads, hot peppers. To name a few. My go to pea has got to be Karina. An organic variety bursting with flavour. Kale, Midnight Sun has a medium height and is very versatile. Great taste!

Kale. Midnight Sun.

Here is another fine variety of beetroot, Pablo F1. Great roasted with garlic. To view our full range of vegetables, herbs and flowers. Please click here.

I wish you a very good start to season 2025. Simon. Sow, grow, eat, repeat.

Putting up a budget polytunnel securely.

Growing vegetables in polytunnels can be very rewarding. Giving you a lot more scope. There are some very good companies out there who will supply and fit exellent tunnels. But, these may be beyond the purse of some people. Budget polytunnels are great. BUT, they must be put up securely. My son and I have put up many of these, and they do not budge. We have produced a video showing how we do it. Please take a look, and like and subscribe to my channel for future programmes.
