Hello, and welcome to my sunflower festival 2024. Why a festival? Well, really just to celebrate this beautiful and useful flower. Also to use it to hopefully get more people to start growing things. It is called a sunflower because the head of the flower follows the movement of the sun throughout the day. They are also rich in pollen for our bees. Also, birds love the seeds. We all love the colours, so whats not to like about the beautiful sunflower. If you are a parent, carer, teacher or teaching assistant this festival is for you. What better and more fun way could there be to teach how to grow flowers AND food. Read on to learn more. We have a great competition where all can enter. Hints and tips on growing sunfowers, including using them as a companion plant for runner beans. We have a variety of sunflower growing kits for children, adults, parties and schools and social groups. All at a festival discount. Tips on growing sunflowers.
Use good quality seeds. 2. Full sun if possible. 3. Use good rich soil. 4. Protect from slugs and snails. 5. Use a cane for support if needed. 6. Remove weeds from planting area.

Sunflower Growing Kits For Everyone.
Some time ago my grandaughter asked if we could grow some sunflowers. So, I sent away for a sunflower growing kit from a company online. I was very disapointed. I thought, I can do better than this. So I did. Our regular growing kit was the first we produced. Then we devised a mini kit that we thought would be ideal for parties. And lastly our kit for schools and sicial grooups.
Our sunflower growing kits differ to others. Because we believe in the benefits of companion planting, we also include runner bean seeds in with the kit. These can be trained to grow up the sunflower. So, you grow food as well. How cool is that.
