Planting and sowing instructions
Sow April, May. Harvest September to February. Direct sow outdoors April to May to produce quality roots. Avoid cold or wet soils. Grow in sunny, stone free soil that has been dug well. Sow very thinly 2cm deep in drills 30cm apart. Germination is slow, taking up to 30 days. When large enough, thin out to 7cm apart or 10cm for larger parsnips.
