A blue-green autumn type. Very high yielding.
Planting and sowing instructions
Sow March-April. Harvest. Harvest October, November, December, January, February. Direct sow outdoors 1cm deep from March to April into a good seedbed, for transplanting later on. Or sow indoors from January to February 1cm deep in modules using good compost. Place in propagator or sealed container inside a plastic bag until after germination which takes up to 21 days. Then grow on in cooler conditions until frost risk has passed. When 20cm tall acclimatise to outdoors over a ten day period, before transplanting them into rich fertile soil. Plant 23cm apart and 30cm between rows. Using a large dibber create a hole at least 15cm. Drop in leeks and fill hole with water, wash around plant to help establish, this method helps to blanch stems. Cover with netting and water well after planting.
