Sow February, March, April. Flowers June to September. Harvest July to October. Sow in greenhouse February To April. Outdoors March to April. Sow on the surface of good compost and cover with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite or compost. Place in propagator until germination, usually about 10-14 days. When two true leaves appear plant into 7.5cm pots of compost and grow on at a temperature of about 15c. If you grow in a heated glasshouse or polytunnel plants may be transplanted in May. Put three plants per growbag or one per 25cm pot or of course direct into the soil. When growing outdoors wait until the end of the frost. Acclimatise them to the outdoors over 10 days and plant from June onwards when they are 20cm tall. Plant in full sun. Use a 5ft cane for support.
