A popular ridge type cucumber. Produces a plentiful crop throughout the summer. Very high yeilding. Suatable for growing outdoors.
Planting and sowing instructions
Sow March, April, May. Flowers May, June, July, August. Harvest July, August, September. Grow in a warm greenhouse, minimum temp 15c. Ridge types are suitable for growing outside. Some varieties can be grown both indoors and outdoors. Sow seeds from March to April for indoors and for transplanting out later on. Sow outdoor varieties May to June. Sow seeds on their side 1cm deep in pots of good quality compost. Place in a propagator or a sealed container inside a polythene bag. Germination will take around 7 days. Protect seedlings from direct sunlight, and grow on until large enough to be transplanted. Keep a minimum temperature of 15c. Keep compost moist. When they have grown on well plant 45cm apart, in a greenhouse. Outdoor varieties acclimatise to outdoors over a 10 day period. Plant in well drained rich soil. Plant outdoors 90cm apart. Water well.
