Planting and sowing instructions
Sow April, May and June. Flowers June, July, August. Harvest June to October. Sow indoors from April to May for transplanting later. Or direct sow outdoors from May to June. Prepare soil in the spring by adding well rotted farmyard manure. Indoors sow seeds 2cm deep in 7.5cm pots. Place in a propagator or sealed container inside a plastic bag until germination which takes about 7 days. Light helps germination. Once germinated grow on in cooler conditions until plants are large enough to be transplanted. Acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over ten days. Plant out in rich fertile soil in full sun 90cm apart and cover with netting.
